In fact, Thornton’s lone target was the only pass directed further than 30 yards downfield, shocking nobody when it fell incomplete on an overthrown ball down the sideline. Thornton can safely be returned to, or left on, the waiver wire ahead of a Week 2 matchup against the Colts. |

Apparently, it was a very mild strain. The Chiefs’ field-stretching wide receiver was back in pads, practicing on Wednesday. It’s unclear what the injury may be.
