Commanders declared QB Jayden Daniels, LB Frankie Luvu, LB Javontae Jean-Baptiste, G Sam Cosmi and TE Chig Okonkwo inactive for Week 3 against the Seahawks. 2026-09-27 12:00:02 Okonkwo is considered week-to-week with his hamstring injury. With Daniels out, Athan Kaliakamanis will be the backup signal-caller for Marcus Mariota against the Seattle defense. |

Chig Okonkwo (hamstring) will not play in Washington’s Week 3 game against the Seahawks. 2026-09-25 17:00:03 Okonkwo has yet to practice after getting injured in Week 1, leading some to wonder if the Commanders know that there’s an injured reserve list they can place players on. Ben Sinnott has filled in for Okonkwo; Sinnott can best be viewed in his natural habitat on the waiver wire as he scores 1.6 points this week. |

Commanders TE Chig Okonkwo (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday. 2026-09-24 20:00:02 Okonkwo is on the wrong side of questionable at this point. He sat out in Week 2 and has not yet resumed practicing. Backup TE Ben Sinnott earned just one target last week. He does not need to be rostered. |

Commanders TE Chig Okonkwo (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. 2026-09-23 20:00:02 Okonkwo did not play in Week 2 due to a hamstring injury and now opens this week not practicing. The 27-year-old suffered the injury in Week 1 and has yet to return to practice since then. The Commanders’ tight end depth chart is thin and neither John Bates or Ben Sinnott are worth rostering with Jayden Daniels out. |

Chig Okonkwo (hamstring) will not play in Week 2 against the Cowboys. 2026-09-18 13:00:02 Okonkwo did not log a practice this week after suffering a hamstring injury in the second half of last week’s game against the Eagles. His absence will leave the Commanders noticeably thin at tight end as far as pass-catchers are concerned, as the next man up on the depth chart is blocking TE John Bates, followed by third-year TE Ben Sinnott, who could see an uptick in the passing game after running 10 routes in Week 1. Fantasy managers should avoid this tight end room altogether despite a plus matchup against the Cowboys. In addition to Okonkwo, the Commanders have also ruled out LB Frankie Luvu (groin). |
