Jaylin Noel (hamstring/finger) returned to practice on Tuesday. 2026-08-18 15:00:02 A real “call an ambulance, but not for me” situation here as it was reported that Noel would be out for a few weeks on Sunday. He’s likely only participating in practice in a reduced role based on that. At this point Noel is likely just a bench dart throw in most leagues despite playing objectively well last year. |

Texans WR Jaylin Noel (hamstring/finger) will be out for “a few weeks” after suffering “a little bit of a setback.” 2026-08-16 20:00:01 NBC Houston’s Aaron Wilson noted earlier today that Noel was not participating in practice due to a finger injury, which he suffered in July, and a recent hamstring injury. It turns out Noel’s recent hamstring injury is actually a re-injury. This is unfortunate. Fellow second-year WR Jayden Higgins has the inside track to the WR2 role. Noel was set to compete with Xavier Hutchinson and WR Tank Dell for the WR3 gig. Instead, he is losing valuable preseason reps. Noel might be best viewed as an early-season waiver wire add. |

Sports Illustrated’s Jared Koch believes that early signs indicate the Texans are asking WR Jaylin Noel to handle a “significant” role this season. 2026-06-15 00:00:04 Noel has been “making waves” in organized team activities and mandatory minicamp and has “all the makings of a second-year breakout,” running as the first-team offense’s primary slot receiver. Koch believes WR Tank Dell (knee) could face a slow ramp-up process and will likely play on the outside most of the time, rather than in the slot. The Texans’ sixth-round rookie WR Lewis Bond is apparently Noel’s only real competition for the slot role, which is to say, he has almost none. If Noel can carry this momentum into training camp, he has a chance to return FLEX value, or more, this season. |
