Buccaneers exercised the fifth-year option for Calijah Kancey.

Calijah, Kancey
Apr 27, 2026 15:00

Cancey is now under contract for the Bucs through the 2027 season. The fourth-year tackle has totaled 11.5 sacks in 29 career games with the Buccaneers, but appeared in just three games last season after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Week 2 against the Texans. Cancey has generated 81 pressures in his career, per PFF, and earned a 64.5 pass rush grade in 2024.

Patriots HC Mike Vrabel returned to team facilities on Monday.

Mike, Vrabel
Apr 27, 2026 15:00

Vrabel missed the third day of the 2026 NFL Draft to spend time with his family and is seeking counseling after reports emerged alleging a relationship with former NFL reporter Dianna Russini. The veteran head coach is not expected to face any disciplinary actions from the league and is presumably back operating in his normal role.

Philly Voice’s Geoff Mosher thinks the Eagles may consider using rookie QB Cole Payton in a Taysom Hill type of role.

Cole, Payton
Apr 27, 2026 13:00

This is, of course, all speculation, but Payton is one of the more athletic QBs (4.56 40-yard dash, 9.86 RAS) to come through the draft in recent memory, and there’s been plenty of speculation about what the Eagles have planned for him after making him the fourth quarterback on the roster. Mosher notes in his article that he reached out to an NFL personnel executive who scouted Payton to get his thoughts on him. Said scout replied, “not sure he’s a QB,” and according to Mosher, the “personnel exec and the team he works for weren’t alone in that opinion.” It’s worth noting that Payton was asked to participate in non-QB drills at North Dakota State’s Pro Day but declined. Now that he’s found his landing spot to begin his pro career, it will be interesting to see how he will be utilized come camp and whether or not the Eagles and Nick Sirianni have a few tricks up their sleeves for their rookie fifth-rounder.

Vikings exercised WR Jordan Addison’s fifth-year option.

Steelers re-signed EDGE Dean Lowry.

Dean, Lowry
Apr 27, 2026 12:00

Lowry missed the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL in training camp. He totaled nine quarterback pressures and one sack back in 2024. Lowry, 31, will likely serve as a backup player if he sticks with the team beyond training camp.

Lions GM Brad Holmes said safeties Brian Branch (Achilles) and Kerby Joseph (knee) are “trending in the right direction” in their recoveries.

Brian, Branch
Apr 27, 2026 12:00

Branch suffered a torn Achilles in Week 14 of last season. It was reported by The Athletic’s Colton Pouncy back in March that Branch isn’t expected to be ready by Week 1 of this upcoming season, but it’s an encouraging sign that Holmes likes how the star safety is trending. Regarding Joseph, the fifth-year safety appeared in just six games last season due to a knee injury and suffered setbacks in his recovery, resulting in a prolonged absence. Holmes said the team’s decision not to draft a safety ultimately had more to do with their board than the health of either safety, but he seems optimistic about their long-term availability for this upcoming season.

Commanders signed LSU WR Chris Hilton Jr.

Chris, Hilton
Apr 27, 2026 10:00

Hilton (6’0”/188) is a former four-star recruit who dealt with numerous injuries while at LSU and never amounted to more than a lightly-used backup. As a freshman in 2021, Hilton suffered a torn meniscus in both his knees. He missed most of 2022 due to a torn labrum and appeared in only six games in 2024 due to an ankle injury. Hilton played primarily on the outside during his time with the Tigers, but never ran more than 149 routes in a season. For his career, he ran 100-plus routes just twice in five seasons. He boasts a 4.41 40-yard dash and made a handful of long touchdown catches in his career, but Hilton needs to refine his route running at the next level and comes up short more often than not on contested targets. With a career receiving line of 41-779-6 in 38 games, Hilton will need to impress on special teams if he hopes to earn a roster spot or earn an extended look on the practice squad.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard said the team has heard “nothing yet,” when asked if QB Anthony Richardson and CB Kenny Moore have found interested suitors after requesting trades.

QB Anthony, Richardson IND
Apr 26, 2026 23:00

Per Ballard, both the players and the team just have to “have a little patience here and see what happens.” Ballard adds that he does not know if Richardson and Moore will attend the Colts’ voluntary organized team activities next week. The dust is still settling following the 2026 NFL Draft, with undrafted free agent signings still rolling in regularly. NFL contracts sometimes include bonuses and/or team-friendly options that come into effect on June 1st. Perhaps the Colts will get a few calls as that date approaches.

Titans signed USC S Bishop Fitzgerald.

Bishop, Fitzgerald
Apr 26, 2026 20:00

Fitzgerald (5’11/201) spent two years at Coffeyville Community College before joining NC State. He played a rotational role in his first season of D1 ball, logging three pass breakups and two interceptions across 13 games. He took on a larger role in the following season and tallied another eight pass breakups with three picks, plus seven TFLs. Fitzgerald then transferred a second time, landing at USC for his final season. His play-making hit new levels with the Trojans and he amassed five interceptions (one of which was a pick-six) and a sack. Fitzgerald can line up in the box, slot, or as a deep safety and has a knack for finding the football. Running a 4.55 40, Fitzgerald has more than enough speed to track down plays, but the time it takes him to recognize the play can often undercut his quickness. With the game only getting faster in the pros, Fitzgerald will need to learn to process faster to keep up as a rookie. NBC Sports Houston’s Aaron Wilson reports that Fitzgerald received a $20,000 signing bonus.

Seahawks invited Arizona State S Myles Rowser to attend their rookie minicamp.

Myles, Rowser
Apr 26, 2026 20:00

Rowser spent one season at Campbell before transferring to New Mexico State. He then headed to Arizona State, where he spent his final two college seasons. The Seahawks possess one of the league’s best safety units, even with Coby Bryant departing for the Bears in free agency. They drafted TCU S Bud Clark in the second round and are evidently interested in giving Rowser a chance to deepen the position group. PFF credits Rowser with four forced incompletions, 70 solo tackles, 10 TFLs and three quarterback pressures last year.

Former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that if he is forced to make a prediction, he believes Aaron Rodgers will be the Steelers’ starting quarterback in 2026.

QB Aaron, Rodgers PIT
Apr 26, 2026 20:00

Tomlin believes Rodgers remains a “capable” player and still loves the game. The positive reports regarding Rodgers’ potential return continue to trickle in. Last week, Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said that he has confidence in Rodgers’ current abilities, and the team only added Round 3 rookie QB Drew Allar to the mix over the weekend. He joins incumbent QBs Will Howard and Mason Rudolph. Allar is an interesting prospect but likely needs time to develop. Being mentored by Rodgers would be very helpful for him.

Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia will attend Ravens rookie minicamp.

Diego, Pavia
Apr 26, 2026 19:00

Pavia (5'10/207) was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2025 who seemingly had a decent shot at getting drafted, but his on-field numbers were not big enough to offset concerns about his stature and bizarre pre-draft behavior. So in the end, he must attend a minicamp. He posted as 3,539/29/8 passing line and an 862/10 rushing line last year, but clocked a 4.83-second 40 at Vanderbilt’s Pro Day. In theory, his passion and production could make him an ideal backup, but he apparently has a ways to go before earning the league’s trust.

UAB RB Isaiah Jacobs will attend Packers rookie minicamp.

Isaiah, Jacobs
Apr 26, 2026 19:00

Jacobs spent two seasons at Maryland followed by three seasons at UAB. A torn ACL ended his 2023 season, and he unfortunately suffered a season-ending foot injury in 2024. He posted a 342/4 rushing line and a 15/82/1 receiving line in his final college season. Packers RB Josh Jacobs is Isaiah’s older brother.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Steelers re-signed EDGE Dean Lowry.

Dean, Lowry
Apr 26, 2026 19:00

Lowry missed the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL in training camp. He totaled nine quarterback pressures and one sack back in 2024. Lowry, 31, will likely serve as a backup player if he sticks with the team beyond training camp.

Titans invited Florida State RB Roydell Williams to attend their rookie minicamp.

Roydell, Williams
Apr 26, 2026 18:00

Williams is a six-year college player who spent four seasons at Alabama and two seasons at Florida State. He notably suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2021 and never once cleared 600 yards rushing in a single season. Williams is likely a long shot to make the Titans’ roster.

49ers signed Tennessee DT Bryson Eason.

Bryson, Eason
Apr 26, 2026 18:00

Eason got a sixth year of eligibility with Tennessee because of the 2020 pandemic and a redshirt 2021 season in 2025, and he was able to procure 31 tackles with 4.5 of those coming for loss. The 6-foot-2, 323-pound is literally built to be a run stuffer, and he showed at times the ability to split double teams with more quickness than you’d expect from a player of his size. He also showed to be a step slow at times, with very little success at winning his reps as a pass-rusher. Eason seems more likely than not to be a two-down player, and one who likely will be on a roster bubble barring something unforeseen. The 49ers also signed Notre Dame WR Will Pauling, Notre Dame S Jalen Stroman and Illinois DT James Thompson.

Ravens’ Ryan Mink reports that team owner Steve Bisciotti was allowed to draft a player for the first time ever this year and chose former Clemson RB Adam Randall.

Adam, Randall
Apr 26, 2026 17:00

The Ravens drafted Randall with the No. 174 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft’s fifth round yesterday. Bisciotti has been the Ravens’ majority owner since 2004 and was reportedly “begging” general manager Eric DeCosta for the chance to draft a rookie this year. According to DeCosta, Bisciotti “did his research and studied the tape, talked to people.” Bisciotti notably has a really good relationship with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney. Swinney moved Randall (6’3/232) from wide receiver to running back for the 2025 season after Randall showcased shifty moves when given the chance to run the ball and contribute as a returner late in 2024. Whether Randall can earn the No. 2 or No. 3 running back role remains to be seen, but it is probably fair to assume that, as far as Day 3 rookies go, Randall’s job security is fairly safe for the time being.

Seahawks and Giants invited USF LB Jhalyn Shuler to attend their rookie minicamps.

Jhalyn, Shuler
Apr 26, 2026 16:00

Shuler, 23, racked up 206 solo tackles, 29 TFLs, six forced incompletions, three interceptions, 46 quarterback pressures and nine sacks as a four-year college player and three-year starter at USF. He lined up as a box defender on a vast majority of snaps, though he lined up at times over the slot and as an outside linebacker as well.

Bills invited free agent WR Jermaine Burton to attend their rookie minicamp.

WR Jermaine, Burton FA
Apr 26, 2026 16:00

The Bengals waived Burton in December 2025 after a disappointing run with the team. Burton was a talented wide receiver prospect out of Alabama, who slipped to the 2024 NFL Draft’s third round. Still just 24 years old, Burton might have a chance to turn things around. He did not play at all last year and caught 4-of-14 targets for 107 yards in 2024.

Saints signed Ohio State RB CJ Donaldson.

CJ, Donaldson
Apr 26, 2026 16:00

Donaldson (6’2”/230) burst on the scene as a true freshman at West Virginia, rushing for 87-526-6 in seven games before a leg injury ended his season. Donaldson was recruited as a three-star tight end before moving to RB during training camp and quickly cemented himself as the starter for the Mountaineers. He rushed for 421-2,058-30 in three seasons before transferring to Ohio State last season. With the Buckeyes, Donaldson managed just 96 carries in 13 games, rushing for 361 yards and 10 scores while averaging a paltry 3.8 YPC. Despite his prowess as a former tight end, Donaldson has never been much of a factor in the passing game, catching just 47 passes for 286 yards in four seasons. Despite his size, Donaldson struggled mightily after contact, posting a 2.99 yards after contact per attempt for his career, and averaging 2.92 YCO/ATT or less in each of his final three seasons. He totaled just 24 carries of 15 or more yards in his career, and may not have much to offer outside of a short-yardage/goal-line role. As a developmental player, Donaldson is worth a look, especially when considering the flashes he showed as a freshman, but the larger body of work leaves much to be desired. He’ll need a strong camp if he hopes to stick on the end of a roster. The Saints also signed DT Keeshawn Silver.

Saints signed EDGE Anfernee Jennings, formerly of the Patriots.

Anfernee, Jennings
Apr 26, 2026 15:00

The Patriots drafted Jennings via a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This will be his first time playing for a new team. He is best suited to a rotational role, but can defend against the run as well as rush the passer. Last season, he totaled 15 quarterback pressures, two sacks and 13 tackles.

Donovan Smith retired after nine years in the NFL.

Donovan, Smith
Apr 26, 2026 15:00

Smith spent eight seasons with the Buccaneers, who drafted him in the 2015 NFL Draft’s second round, before signing a one-year deal with the Chiefs back in 2023. He has not played since that season. In 2020, Smith’s Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV and in 2023, his Chiefs defeated the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. Smith was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2015. He earned more than $66.6 million over the course of his career.

Seahawks and Giants invited USF LB Jhalyn Shuler to their rookie minicamps.

Jhalyn, Shuler
Apr 26, 2026 15:00

Shuler, 23, racked up 206 solo tackles, 29 TFLs, six forced incompletions, three interceptions, 46 quarterback pressures and nine sacks as a four-year college player and three-year starter at USF. He lined up as a box defender on a vast majority of snaps, though he lined up at times over the slot and as an outside linebacker as well.

Browns GM Andrew Berry said the drafting of KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston has “zero impact” on Jerry Jeudy.

WR Jerry, Jeudy CLE
Apr 26, 2026 14:00

The Browns selected two receivers in the top-40 of last week’s draft, taking KC Concepcion 24th overall and Denzel Boston 39th overall. While they clearly addressed a massive weakness on the roster, Berry said he doesn’t expect the addition to have an impact on Jeudy, adding that he prefers to build a receiver room “with different skillsets” and that doesn’t require one player to be a “ball dominant player.” In a somewhat contradictory statement, Berry also said he expects Jeudy, to be the “bell cow” receiver for the team. It’s hard to know what to make of this, but both Concepcion and Boston figure to see the field early as rookies. Even if Jeudy’s snaps don’t see a noticeable decrease, we probably shouldn’t expect him to see anything close to the 142 targets he had in 2024 when he broke out for 92-1,229-4. If head coach Todd Monken can turn around the Browns’ passing game in his first season, Jeudy could have a chance to return value as a fringe WR2/WR3 in fantasy, but there’s a lot to be figured out between now and the start of the season before we can have any kind of confidence in what we should expect.

The Athletic’s Nick Kosmider believes there will be an “immediate role” for Jonah Coleman as the Broncos’ short-yardage RB.

Jonah, Coleman
Apr 26, 2026 14:00

The Broncos used a fourth-round pick to select Coleman in this year’ draft. While it’s not a high enough pick that suggests he will see significant playing time out of the gate, it sounds like he will have a chance to prove himself in certain situations with a chance to earn a heavier workload as he progresses this offseason and into the regular season. While both JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey stand in the way of Coleman, Dobbins is on a two-year deal and would cost just $2 million to cut next offseason, and Harvey struggled on the ground as a rookie, averaging just 3.7 YPC and 2.72 yards after contact per attempt. Coleman will make for an interesting stash in redraft and best ball leagues this offseason, and could turn into a touchdown vulture that puts a hard cap on the fantasy upside of both Dobbins and Harvey.
